DAVID (DAVE) DOUGLAS MANN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Mann on January 9, 2009 at Victoria Hospital following a brief battle with cancer at the age of 55. Dave will be missed by his wife Sandra, and children Jason (Janelle) and Marissa; brothers Alan (Anita) and Gerald; brothers-in-law Robert (Colleen); David (Kim) and Paul (Chieri); and parents in law Don and Muriel. He is also missed by his nieces and nephews, Leanne, Cheryl, Mike (Kari), Kyle and Taylor. Dave developed an early interest in farming, and spent many hours helping on his grandparent's farm. This interest later expanded into a career in agriculture. Dave also enjoyed many great years at the cottage, as well as numerous camping trips. Dave's favourite holiday destination regardless of the season was the mountains. The family enjoyed many road trips, ski trips or marathon trips that always seemed to be spent in the mountains. In the last few years Dave got the vacationing bug and enjoyed trips to the south during Winnipeg's cold winter, most recently to Hawaii. Dave enjoyed many sports, including racquets (badminton, squash and tennis), biking and downhill skiing. He was also an avid runner, he completed several half and full marathons. Our thanks are extended to our many friends and family who provided support during Dave's illness. Thank you also to the staff of 4 South at Victoria Hospital who provided him excellent care. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on January 16 at Broadway First Baptist Church (790 Honeyman Ave). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of their choice. Glen Lawn Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
