ANNE GRAHAM (nee ZAHARA) Peacefully, on Sunday, January 11, 2009, Anne Graham, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at Meadowood Manor at the age of 96. Mom was born on July 26, 1912, to Jacob and Maria Zahara in Gardenton, Manitoba. In 1929 she moved to Winnipeg where she worked until mom and dad were married in 1942, and together they made their home in St. Vital. Mom's life was dedicated to her home and raising her family. Her vegetable and flower gardens were her pride and joy and the envy of many in the neighbourhood. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred; her parents; her brothers William, John, Mike, Sam, Bill, Eli and Manuel; her sisters Sophie, Lillian, Pearl and Irene. She is survived by her daughter Gail of Winnipeg, her son Robert (Marge) of Deep River, ON, her son Brian (Jean) of Calgary, four grandsons Geoffrey (Meghan) of Orangeville, ON, Ian (Kassandra) of Ottawa, Timothy and Christopher both of Calgary, her great-granddaughter Ellery of Orangeville, her great- grandson Logan of Ottawa, her brother Nicholas (Leona) of Lancaster, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Viewing will be held a half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Vital Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff of Meadowood Manor for the wonderful care given to mom.
