GERHARD LEOPPKY SCHROEDER (LITTLE GEORGE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Schroeder at St. Boniface Hospital on January 9, 2009, at the age of 68 years. George leaves to mourn, his wife of 49 years, Helen; his sons Darrell (Bev), Darvin (Pam), Darrin (Kim), Kirk, Jason (Jeannine), his only daughter Cindy (Allen) Unger; grandchildren, Tiffany, Justin, Maggin, Carson, Christian, Harrison, Jordan, Avery, Bryce, Shaunessy, Kaela, Brett, Taron, Kira, Ashley, Darius, Dane, and one great-grandson R.J. He is also survived by his two sisters, Katarina Grienke and Erna (Denver) Fast, brother-in-law Earl (Rita) Boulanger, mother-in-law Evelyn Boulanger, and his many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his mother, Katarina, his father, Gerhard, his step-mother, Anna, his father-in-law, Lou Boulanger, and his brother-in-law Edwin Grienke. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover St., in Steinbach, MB.
