DIETER HEINZ WEIHS Peacefully, Dieter passed away after a short illness, on January 10, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital. Dieter is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary; his sons, Chris (Kristen), Ron (Kim); grandchildren, Nolan, Ally, Owen, Ashley and Adam; sisters Elly (Heinz), Herta (Charlie), and brother Wilfred, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Dieter was born in Poland on April 14, 1944 and immigrated to Canada in 1950. He completed his apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker with Miller Sheet Metal, where he worked for over 20 years. He joined Seven Oaks School Division where he worked as a custodian for 23 years before retiring in 2002. Dad was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed spending summers camping at Brereton Lake. Grandpa enjoyed a good game of cards - especially with his grandchildren, who he often accused jokingly of cheating. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Gerald Langevin presiding. A reception will follow immediately after the service. Rest in Peace, Dad. We'll miss you Grandpa Dieter! 586-8044
