MARJORIE JANE MCCALLUM 1927-2008 Mrs. Marjorie Jane, beloved wife of Mr. Ronald McCallum of Sylvan Lake, Alberta passed away suddenly at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Marjorie was born on March 2, 1927 at Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she met and married her husband Ron. Much of their younger years and fond memories were formed at Webb's Camp in Laclu, Ontario. Marjorie and Ron moved west to Calgary and purchased a cottage on Sylvan Lake, where they eventually retired. It is here that they continued the tradition with children and grand- children, enjoying the beauty and peace of lake living. She is survived by her husband Ron; three children Lynn (Ron) Odynski of Edmonton, Alberta, Lawrence (Miranda Cooper) McCallum of Edmonton, Alberta, Diane (Jim) Tomaselli of Golden, British Columbia; seven grandchildren Kirsten, Kelsey and Veronica Odynski, Julianna and Nolan Tomaselli and Trevor and Helena Cooper; one sister Shirley (Jim) Hughes of Toronto, Ontario and one sister-in-law Shirley Hourd. Marjorie is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Jenny Hourd and one brother Wilbert. A Celebration of Life will be held at her beloved Sylvan Lake home on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Directions may be obtained by calling Eventide Funeral Chapels at 403-347-2222.
