JAMES JOSEPH CHIC
Date of Passing: Jan 09, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES JOSEPH CHIC If I have it, I'll give it. If I can help, I will. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jim Chic, on January 9, 2009 at the age of 56. There are some people in life that have the ability to make those around them feel truly loved and cared for, and Jim was one of them. With a smile on his face and a camera in his hand you could count on him for a kind word and a laugh that would put a smile on the faces of those around him. He will be remembered as a devoted son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend. Jim spent many years working at Eddie's Gravel in Winnipeg Beach and the people he worked alongside became some of his best friends. But what truly mattered most to Jim was his family. Saturday mornings were reserved for his Mom's kitchen table with a cup of coffee. As a loving son he was always there for his parents. He was a loyal brother to his younger brother and sisters, and became a doting uncle in their children's lives. Lastly he was the most supportive, encouraging and loving father and grandfather his children could have ever asked for. They were always sure to know they were loved and that he would always be there for them. Although cut short, we can only remember our time spent with Jim as blessed. The memories he created and captured for us will live on in our hearts forever. He leaves to mourn his loving mother, Helen (Stan, February 16, 2006), his brother Steve (Janet), his sisters Joyce (Richard) and Valerie, his children, Daniel (Melissa), Jennifer (Andrew), Heather (Perry) and his nieces and nephews, Wayne (Maureen), Stacey, Audrey (Robert), David, Stephanie and Kelsey. He also leaves behind two grandsons, Austin (Daniel and Melissa) and Atreyu (Jennifer and Andrew). As per Jim's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to KidSport Canada-Manitoba, 200 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4M2. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.

They say time heals but it truly doesn't. You find yourself looking back on all the memories and realize how much one person could mean and teach you. I miss you dad more and more as time passes but as I get older I realize all the things you taught me. I love you more than words can express and you'll never be forgotten. Hope you're up there laughing. I love u Dad xoxo - Posted by: Daniel Chic (Son) on: Jan 08, 2014
