Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD ROBERT JACK THIRD Following a massive heart attack on Saturday, Don passed away peacefully with his family and friends at his side early in the morning Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Don leaves to mourn his brother Bruce Third and wife Dolores, his niece Melissa, and his nephew Nickolas. He was predeceased by his parents Isabel (Mac) and Del Third in 1988. He also leaves to mourn numerous friends and family. Don was born April 23, 1953 in Winnipeg. He spent the majority of his 55 years living in Morris. Following graduation Don received a scholarship in music to Jamestown College. After a year of college he decided to return home to Morris and pursue a career with Manitoba Highways and Transportation where he worked for 27 years. Don was known for his fun loving nature. If you were with Don you were having fun. He loved having a good time and loved being around people. He was an active baseball player and could also be seen both coaching and umping. Don enjoyed hockey, he played it in his younger years and managed the Morris Stampeders. His knowledge of music was exceptional and there was never a music or sports related trivial pursuit question that Don could not answer. Don had a competitive spirit and this could be seen regularly in both his sports and music. Anyone who knew Don has a story about him. He was known throughout the community and will be deeply missed. The funeral service will be held at the Morris United Church on Friday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m., with interment of Don's cremated remains in the Morris Cemetery.
