            KENNETH (KEN) FENSTAD On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, Ken died at the Grace Hospital at the age of 77 years after a three year battle with cancer. Remaining to forever cherish Ken's memory are his loving wife of 52 years of marriage Jennie; son Andrew Fenstad (Kim); daughter Sandra Sanche (Marty) and grandchildren Georgina and Joey Sanche, as well as brothers-in-law Fred and Walter Hrechuk, several nieces and nephews and many relatives in Norway. He was predeceased by his parents Olaf and Jorgina Fenstad; sister Christine Akre and brother-in-law Gerald Akre. Born July 30, 1931 in Ratcliffe, Saskatchewan to Olaf and Jorgine Fenstad, Ken was involved in the construction business for many years (Fenstad and Kolberg Roofing Concrete) and was a member of the Concrete Finishers Association taking pride in providing good workmanship. His great enjoyment was clearing bush and building the cottage at Lac Lu, Ontario. Ken spent many happy times with friends and family, fishing and snowmobiling, and also enjoying winters being a snowbird in Florida and Texas. Ken's funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. with Rev. Dr. Michael Wilson, presider. Our thanks to Dr. George and Dr. Joshua and all the staff on the 5th floor of the Grace Hospital for their compassionate care, as well as a thanks to Dr. Ralph Wong and the staff at CancerCare in St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations in Ken's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9.
