MARIA DOS ANJOS MACHADO FURTADO Peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2009, with her loving family at her side, Maria, aged 77 years, passed away at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. Maria is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jose; four daughters Luisa (Joe) Pereira, Ana (Eduardo) Moniz, Filomena (Celestino) Figueiredo, Maria (Carlos) Andrade; three sons John (Doris), Tony, Carlos; grand-children Marco, Jason, Brian, Johnathan, Christopher, James, Robert, Ricky, Sandy, Brina, Michelle, Nicole, Sabrina, Sarah, Samantha; great-grandchildren Jordan, Isabela, Gabriele, Summer, Ashton, Marley, Riley; and nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and many friends. Maria was born in Sao Migeul, Acores on September 12, 1931. She came to Winnipeg in 1971 where she stayed and raised her family. Maria was a loving wife, and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed. Special thanks to all the staff that helped Maria at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. Funeral Mass will be spoken on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg with Msgr. Maurice Comeault officiating. Prayers will be said on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the church.
