AUDREY MARJORIE SILVER On Friday, January 16, 2009, Audrey Marjorie Silver, at the age of 88 years, became reunited with her late husband, Elmar, quietly ending her important journey on earth. Mom was predeceased by her siblings, Bill, Cora, Daisy, and Dorothy, and is survived by her sister June Taylor and brother Donnie Fisher (Billie). Also mourning her passing are her children and their families: Dianne and Norman Oakley, Judy Wakefield (Michael) and Janice Oakley (Josh Lynn): Dave and Sandra Silver, Graham, Brent, and Camille; John and Pat Silver, Karlee, Breanne and Emily. Her life was very full with her commitment to her husband, children and grandchildren; her love of the church and the friends from St. Alban's who worked with her, helping throughout the parish; her involvement in bowling, from lane to lawn to carpet; her relationship with her daughter Dianne, who was always there as her friend, her advocate, and her strength. Especially important to Audrey was her relationship with her brother Donnie and sister-in-law Billie Fisher. Trips, playing cards, eating and laughing were always the norm when our parents got together with Donnie and Billie, whether in Selkirk, Mazatlan, Las Vegas or Reno. Audrey loved her children and was a positive role model through her quiet but strong manner, her great sense of humour and her modesty. Her life was completed with her grandchildren. Their outstanding successes showed Mom that she and Dad had more than passed the test for being exceptional parents as well as wonderful people. This gave her permission finally to leave her family and once more be reunited with her soul mate and husband, Elmar. We will miss your quiet strength, Mom. You have earned your eternal rest. The members of the family also wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff of the Lions Manor, for treating our mother with kindness and dignity at all times. A memorial service will be held on Monday January 19 at 2:00pm in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Osborne House Inc., Box 397 Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2H6.
