GILBERT KONRAD GUTTORMSSON 1920 - 2009 Gilbert was born on the family farm at Vidivellir, Icelandic River (Riverton), Manitoba to parents Jensina and Guttormur. He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters: Arnheidur, Palina, Bergljot, Hulda, and baby Hulda, as well as by his nephews: Maurice, Melvin, Raymond, and David. Gilbert is survived by nieces and nephews: June, Heather, Dennis, Ron, Maureen, Paula, and Gail. Gilbert lived his whole life on the farm owned by his family for over a century. He was highly intelligent, well-read, and his blue eyes twinkled with a shy sense of humour. The family wishes to specially thank Gilbert's dear friend, Margaret Wishnowski, and the wonderful staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home and Arborg Hospital for their loving care. Pastor Trudy Thorarinson will officiate at a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at a later date. Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
