Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELMA HARDMAN (nee TOEWS) Mom quietly went to sleep on Jan.17/09. She had suffered a bad stroke on Jan. 11 and never fully recovered. Mom was born on May 16, 1919 in a house south of Altona. In 1941, after meeting Dawson Hardman through the home loving hearts column, they married and farmed in Ochre River from 1941-48 when they moved to St. Vital where she has lived ever since. She was happy being a wife and mother. Dad died in 1985 at the age of 75. From an early age Elma was taught to love the Bible by her parents and maintained a firm hope to live forever in the promised paradise on earth (Rev. 21:3,4). She died confident in the Resurrection of the dead. She loved music, flowers, birds, gardening, travelling, taking pictures and shopping, and especially evenings on the phone with friends. Foremost, she was a spiritual person who loved to read the Bible and discuss it with others. Her over 50 poems contain all these life experiences. She is survived by her children; Wayne (Blendine), John (Lois), Myrna (Joe) Hrynchuk, Gerald (Fran) and daughter-in-law Rozanne Hardman, plus 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, as well as two brothers, Art (Mary), and Norman (Emily) Toews and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Dawson, son Bob, grandson Ryan, her parents Henry and Mary Toews, two brothers David and Vernon and a precious sister Helen. Thanks to the Poseidon Care Home where she resided, St. Boniface Hospital and the 5th floor nursing staff and doctors. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 227 Lakewood Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Service by Chris Hardman.
