ETHEL V. SPRAGUE Ethel was born in Plum Coulee, Manitoba on September 23, 1926 and passed away January 12, 2009 at the age of 82. She was educated in Plum Coulee and excelled in track and field sports in High School and won the southwestern Championship in 1941-1942-1943. Following which she attended Angus School of Commerce in Winnipeg 1944- 1945. She was employed at Blue Cross 1945- 1956 and the following years at the Provincial Government Tourism Department until 1978 when she took early retirement. Ethel's interest in music was the piano and organ and for a time was organist for the church. Ethel was active in the Winnipeg Badminton Club; Winnipeg Canoe Club; Puffin Ski Club; Winnipeg Winter Club and the Charleswood Golf Club. She is survived by her husband Richard; sister-in-law Edna Jackman of Winkler; nephews Douglas (Barbara) Moffat; Garth (Lori) Jackman; Robin (Judie) Jackman; nieces Gail (Warren) Single and Carol Jackman. She was predeceased by her parents Louis and Emma Jackman; sister and brother-in-law Clara and Douglas Moffat; brother Donald and sister-in-law Nora Jackman and brother Garry Jackman. By request no flowers or donations please. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
