MARY KOROL (KERYLUK) 1916 2009 A great lady, Mom and Baba, passed away on January 19, leaving an imprint on the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Mary was 92 years young. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, Shirley (Len) and Darlene (Don); eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; along with nephews and nieces and numerous cousins and friends. She loved each and every one of you. Mary was predeceased by her husband Marion; son George; daughter Gloria and constant companion in recent years, her dog Suzi. They were all there to meet her at Heaven's gates. She was also predeceased by her parents, Anton and Anastasia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Mary, Bill and Ollie; and nephews, Ed and Bruce. Mary was born in Fraserwood, Manitoba on September 26, 1916. Mary and her husband spent most of their lives in a variety of businesses, the last one being the hotel in Starbuck. After enjoying several years in retirement in Kelowna, Mary and Marion returned to Winnipeg in 1981 to be close to family and friends. Mary was a people person and made friends wherever she went. She loved cooking and her home was always open to everyone. She also loved gardening. She was engaged in life and lived it to the fullest. Special thanks to her homecare workers: Sheryl, Eveline and Sheila and to the wonderful nurses at the Grace and Victoria Hospitals. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Starbuck, Manitoba. Viewing at the church prior to the service. Interment Starbuck Cemetery. To honour two of her favourite things - children and animals, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children Foundation, 633 Wellington Crescent or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst.
