JOHN BORIS ZBOROWSKY Surrounded by his loving children, peacefully on January 20, 2009 at the age of 76 years John Zborowsky completed his long journey on earth and was called home by the Lord. He has left behind his three children, Tom (Jody), Stephen (Diane), and Joanne (Brad) to carry on his memory to live and love with the same compassion he expressed everyday of his life. Remaining to cherish his memory is his brother Walter (Elizabeth) Zborowsky. GeeGee will now be watching over and protecting his true joys, his five grandchildren, Stephenie, Jared, Katrina, Dominik and Natasha. John was predeceased by his parents and brothers, William and Myron. His love of working with his hands molded his career. Dad's early jobs found him working at lumber yards developing a strong connection to the construction industry. John was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Josaphat Council, serving as Grand Knight for two terms and previously a Fourth Degree member of Canon Luhovy Assembly. This membership provided him with the opportunity to express his faith in the fullest and achieve his proudest and most memorable achievement: the construction of Cook's Creek Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Cook's Creek, Manitoba. He was a leader, motivator and a driving force in the construction and completion of this historic site. This will be his legacy. John's career years saw him assuming a management position at W.G. McMahon where he would work with close friends until his retirement. John's gift and ability to create something from a conceptual thought or image and build it was renowned. From a simple request for the first grandchild to have a cradle the die was cast for the construction of hundreds more projects. A wedding bench for his daughter's wedding was the catalysis which saw him take his building passion and make it into a retirement career. Zedd Kreations was born. He loved this part of his life as it allowed him the ability to share his creative thoughts and create memories for his clients. John was an active member of Adventures Singles Club and was probably best known for his unique dancing style which always got everyone up and smiling. Funny, Loving, Compassionate, a true zest for life just scratch the surface in describing Dad; John. A man of many names, Slick, Johnny Boy, Brother John, Zonie, with a smile he answered to them all. John truly loved the time he spent with his family more than any other. He was always included and shared in every special moment. He preached that his children never forget family and friends because they are what give you strength in time of need. The family would like to say a special thanks to Holy Family Nursing Home staff for their caring compassion provided to John and the family. Thanks also to the many Home Care workers and his Friendly Visitor from Age Opportunity. Prayers will be said on Friday January 23, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2009 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue with interment to follow the service at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to Holy Family Nursing Home or Age Opportunity. 586-8044
