LINEY SIGRIDUR GRAY (BJORNSSON) Peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, Mom passed away in her 91st year. Mom (Amma) will be sadly missed and her memory cherished by her daughter Bev; son Jim (Bern); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and family members; so many to mention. She was predeceased by her son Murray; husband Alex; brothers, Arnie (Pearl), Pete (Mary), Bill (Muriel), Mindy (Evelyn), Swampy, Marino; sisters, Laufey (Gord) and Hilda; and son-in-law Doug. Born in Selkirk, MB, September 12, 1918 to Gudmundur and Birgitta. Liney completed her education receiving the Governor Generals Medal in 1935. Upon graduation she moved to Winnipeg to enroll in secretarial school, met and married Alex, and together they raised three children. Mom had many passions which included: Family, Friends, Music, Painting, Baking, Bird Lake, her Faith and her Icelandic Heritage. Mom's attention to order and detail was always noticeable in her home, her paperwork and her own presence. She always displayed amazing strength, wit and humour throughout her many Ups and Downs. A celebration of her life will be held at Golden West Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Thank you so much to everyone she came in contact with at Golden West, who showed compassion and respected her dignity for the past two years.
