EDITH MENNA AIKENHEAD (nee JONES) In the providence of God our dear wife, mother and grandmother Edith went to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, January 21, 2009. Born in 1933, she was predeceased by her father and mother, Tudor and Lily Jones; her sister Gwyneth; son Paul Walter; and father- and mother-in-law Aikenhead. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Walter; son Bruce (Marg); daughter Judi (Thomas); grandchildren Christopher, Stephanie, Serena and Caitlin; step-mom Evelyn Jones; sisters Glenys and Lily May (Richard); brother David (Della); twin brother Bevan (Joyce); nieces and nephews and their families; and brother-in-law Matt. From the onset of Parkinson's disease about ten years ago, she has never complained, but has looked to God for strength. Special thanks to the doctors and others who cared for her in her last years, especially the homecare folks while at Lindenwood Manor and River Park Gardens. A memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Church, 366 Oakwood Avenue on Monday, January 26 at 12:00 noon. Viewing prior to the service.
