MARGARET CAIRNS Passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital on January 21, 2009 with the surrounding comfort of her family and sister. Beloved wife of Ian, loving and devoted mother of Geoff (Sandy), Lindsey (Carlos) and Jennifer (Michael), and grandmother of Lauren, Katherine, Amara, Ted, Stephanie, Isabela, Sophia and Carly and loving sister Judy (Larry) and their family. Margaret will always be remembered for her warmth and the love she had for us all. Margaret was born in Winnipeg, December 31, 1938 where she attended Daniel Mac Collegiate and later qualified as a laboratory technician working initially at the Grace Hospital. Over the years she and her family lived at various times in Montreal, Victoria and Mississauga where she made many friends and kept in touch with them over her lifetime. In addition to being an ardent bridge player, Margaret enjoyed good times with her golfing friends, had a love of scenic travel, walks in Rattray Marsh, and took a special pleasure in the garden which every summer was a riot of colour. Her love, her smile and her laughter will be sorely missed. A Service of Remembrance, followed by a reception will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Turner Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga. Friends may visit on Wednesday, January 28 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
