RUBY BUTT On Thursday, Jan 22, 2009 Ruby peacefully passed away at 10:20 a.m. with her son and daughter by her side. She leaves to mourn her loving three children Tony (Heather White) Cindy (Rocky Gushuliak) and Karen Butt, and grandchildren Brandt, Kevin, Jared, Justin, and Chelsey. Ruby was born in Caul-du-sac West, Newfoundland on November 25th, 1940. She was the eldest daughter of William and Annie Spencer. Her loving family remained in Newfoundland and still reside there today. A devoted, wife to David Butt, a loving nurturing mother who guided her children in all aspects of their lives, Ruby cherished each moment spent with her family and many friends, enriching our lives with her humor, wit, intelligence and ever lasting determination. Ruby taught in the province of Newfoundland for almost 20 years. She was a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher and life long student. She completed her child Psychology degree after being transferred to Manitoba in the 1970s. Ruby loved painting, singing, sewing, gardening, china painting, quilting and many more hobbies. A service celebrating her life will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) on Tuesday, January 27, at 10:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in memory of Ruby can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
