Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ELIZABETH WALKER Passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on January 21, 2009 at the age of 95. The daughter of James Walker and Margaret (Lewthwaite) Walker of Millom, Cumbria England, she was predeceased by her brothers, Gilfred, William, Frederick and John, and sister Elsie; nephews, George and Ernie Walker, James Gregg and Roy White. She is survived by her nephew James Walker (Gerry); nieces, Win Gregg, Madge Wick (Stan), Pauline White and Laura Philip (William), Helen Walker, and their families. She was a devoted Aunt and mentor to all of us. Madge, as she was known to family and friends, was an artist and for many years a member of the Winnipeg Sketch Club. She was a graphics artist by profession. She was an active member of the St. Vital YWCA. She loved to travel and had happy adventures when travelling overseas and by rail to British Columbia with her sister, Elsie, and to the Shooting Star Casino in Minnesota with her niece Pauline. At her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in her honour at St. Philip's Anglican Church, 240 Tache Avenue, on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. L. Parsons officiating. There is wheelchair access at the rear of the church. The family would like to thank her many home care workers, and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and Seven Oaks Hospital, for their care and kindness over the years. Thank you also, to the Winnipeg Paramedics who answered her many calls and took her to the various hospitals. They did a splendid job and she was grateful for their help. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
