SOPHIA KASZAS (nee FILIPIAK) 1952 - 2009 Peacefully at Riverview Health Centre on January 24, 2009, Sophia passed away at the age of 56 years with her daughter by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer and artery disease. She is lovingly missed and remembered by her husband Les, daughter, Leslie, son-in-law Andy, and the light of her life, grandson Draven. She also leaves behind sisters Wanda and Lucy, brother Ed, nieces Bonnie, Raquelle, Kristen, Amber and Nicole, niece Eva her husband Tom, and their children Dan, Kristen and Julie Colby of Oshawa, best friend Irene and her sisters, and all of the numerous friends she had at St. Stephen's Hungarian House. Sophia was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Stan Filipiak. A very special thank you to Jadwiga Solarczyk and her family for all of your kindness and prayers. Thank you to Susan Reiser and the staff at 3 East in Riverview Health Centre for your care and support. To respect Sophia's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place.
