ELMER WILLIAM KLOCK On Sunday, January 25, 2009, Elmer William Klock passed away in hospital in Naples, FL after a brief stay. Elmer was born on June 19, 1937 in Winnipegosis, MB. He spent his youth in the Dauphin area where at an early age demonstrated a very strong work ethic, and a love for sports. He played football and hockey while working various jobs, developing and maintaining great friendships which remain. He married Adeline on July 17, 1958 in Dauphin, MB. Elmer wasn't afraid to try something new or hard work, and was very determined to better himself and provide his family with a better life. With Adeline at his side, they moved to Brandon, then Winnipeg and eventually Thunder Bay where Elmer attained his dream as Dealer Principal at Pinewood Ford Ltd. He thoroughly loved his years at Pinewood, and continued to stop in whenever at home. He never forgot where he came from and was always very understanding to others who faced adversity. Elmer loved his family dearly. His happiest and favourite times were spent with family and friends. He was also a passionate fan cheering on his grandchildren. Elmer was a kind, generous and honest man who valued the people he loved. Together, Elmer and Adeline enjoyed the winter in Naples, FL where they kept busy golfing and socializing with old friends from home, and new friends and neighbours they met down there. Elmer is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Adeline, his daughter Leah, daughter Shannon and son in law Darryl Burton, grandchildren Eric, Ryan and Katelyn Burton, sister Evelyn and brother-in-law Gordon Ryz, sister in law Sylvia Pawlik, nieces Diana Pawlik, Andrea (Sean) Hallett, and Lindsey Ryz, nephews David (Donna) Pawlik, Chris (Myrna) Ryz and Brent Ryz. He is predeceased by his daughter Michelle, his parents Mike and Mary Klock, his in-laws Fred and Anne Chaykowski, his brother-in-law and dear friend Roman Pawlik, and his sister-in-law Button (Orysia) McKechnie. Funeral services for Elmer will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Church, 30 Algoma St. S. with Rev. Randy Boyd officiating. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Elmer strongly believed in counting his blessings and in giving back to the community. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make a donation to the Toronto Western Hospital Foundation - Dr. Moro, Movement Disorder Clinic, 399 Bathurst, Toronto, ON, M5T 2S8, or to a charity of your choice.
