JOHANN (JOE) ISLEIFUR JOHANNSON Peacefully, on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the age of 93, with his family by his side Johann (Joe) passed away at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his children, Ivan (Dianne), Douglas (Lorraine), Russell (Grace) and Patsy (Larry McCauley); nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jenny (Hayward) on August 19, 1984 and his grandson Erik on December 12, 2008. Grandpa was born on September 27, 1915 on the homestead (Haga) in Lundar, Manitoba. In 1941, he married grandma (Jenny Hayward) and together they farmed and raised their children. Grandpa did commercial ice fishing for over 50 years until he retired four years ago. Grandpa was very quiet but always loved his visits, especially with the grandkids. Grandpa/Afi, we will always remember the special times we had with you, we will cherish those memories forever. You will forever be in our hearts, we love you! Special thanks to the Home Care Workers, Dr. Arara and staff at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital. In Accordance to grandpa's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date.
