Date of Passing: Jan 24, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH ABBIE BONA (nee TRUMP) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Abbie Bona after a brief illness on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Victoria Hospital at the age of 88 years. Remaining to forever cherish Edith's memory are her beloved husband of 47 years; her nephews and nieces, Brian and Joan Trump, Melvin Trump, John and Ann Trump, Larry and Debbie Trump and families. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Jack and Norman; and sister-in-law Lillian Trump. Born on December 5, 1920, in Balmoral, Manitoba to William and Margaret Trump, Edith grew up on the farm with her two brothers Jack and Norman. Edith worked for 37 years with the Federal Government and helped many new Canadians find employment when they arrived in Winnipeg. She was well respected and had a long list of friends and acquaintances she had made along the way. Edith was the person to go to in the office to organize any social events, a trait that started in her early years on the farm and continued late into life. In keeping with Edith's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dawn McTaggart for her care over the last few years. Also to Dr. Cavers and nurses, Dana and Debbie, health care aides and staff from Unit 4 south for their gentle care, compassion and kindness. Flowers are gratefully declined.
