IRENE CECILIA FENNESSY (nee TEDESCHI) December 30, 1914 January 27, 2009 Peacefully and with dignity, with family by her side our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Irene Cecilia Fennessy (nee Tedeschi) slipped the bonds of this earth peacefully and left us the way she lived, quietly and calmly on Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Remaining to forever cherish Irene's memory are her three children, Jean (Phillip) Frederick, Margaret (Donald) Schellenburg and Michael (Judy) Fennessy; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marion Eckhart, Thresia Tedeschi and Margaret Gorrell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours will miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Hillier; her youngest child, Richard David; her parents; and three of her sisters, Edna, Gladys and Leona. Irene's first priority was always her family. She was there to provide assistance with love, care and devotion at any time she was called upon. With her knowledge and experience as a Registered Nurse, she spent most of her life in the service of others. With her bright quick smile and warm loving manner, she comforted many and touched the lives of all of those around her with her gentle, kind and generous soul. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Irene's home parish, St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 271 Hampton Street on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Msgr. Michael Moore, presiding. The family wishes to thank with heartfelt sincerity the staff of Lion's Manor for their caring generosity, loving support and spirit of life with which they cared for Irene. In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society, CancerCare Manitoba or the charity of your choice.
