DOROTHY GASCOIGNE With her family by her side, Dorothy Gascoigne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at the age of 86. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters, Lorraine, Heather, Dorothy and Shari; her son-in-law Hank; and her grandchildren, Meghan, Amanda and Lee. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Al, who passed away November 5, 2008. She was born in Regina, SK on February 4, 1922 and married Al on October 15, 1946. During their life together they lived in many locations throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The family grew; they met many lifelong friends and settled in Winnipeg. After her family had grown, she returned to the workforce at the Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters and later the Canadian Red Cross where she remained until her retirement. Dorothy was kind, caring and generous: a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We will miss her deeply and remember her daily. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital on Ward N3 East for their gentle care and thoughtfulness.
