Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLARRY BAKER It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden peaceful passing of Larry at his home with his loved ones at his side on January 29, 2009. Larry was born in Cromwell, MB on May 10, 1929, the youngest son of five children to Jennie and John Baker. On October 20, 1956, he married the love of his life Winnie, and they resided in Beausejour, MB with their son James. In 1971, they purchased the family farm in Ladywood, MB where he resided until his passing. He enjoyed a busy life working on the farm and outside the farm learning the values of hard work, helping the neighbours with repairs or other mechanical work, a skill that earned him respect throughout his lifetime. He is lovingly missed and remembered by his loving wife Winnie, son James, daughter-in-law Debbie and Grandpa's pride and joy, his grandchildren Lindsay and Tyson. Larry was predeceased by his parents Jennie and John and sister Gertie Kozera. He is also survived by his sisters Rose, Barbara and Anne. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many dear friends. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration will be held at the Sobering Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Mark Drozniak presiding. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Ladywood, MB. A very special thank-you to Dr. Pat Harris at the Concordia Hospital for her dedicated and compassionate care shown to Larry and his family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please make a donation to CancerCare, Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
