ALICE AMBROSIE (nee CHARCHUK) On January 30, 2009, Alice Ambrosie completed her journey of life, with her family by her side. She passed away with peace and dignity at the Riverview Health Center. Alice was predeceased by her parents Max and Nancy Charchuk of Andrew, Alberta. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bill of 54 years; four sons, Brad (Brenda), Rod (Diane), Randy (Barb), Tom (Shannon); grandchildren Sean, Alice, Paula, Alyssa, Kyle, Samantha, Meighan, Derek and Emily. She is also survived by her sister, Adeline Hackman (George), brother Ron Charchuk, sister-in-law Mary Nemerski and brother- in- law Bill Clair. Alice was born on May 11, 1934 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and was raised in Andrew, Alberta. Alice and Bill were married on August 28, 1954 in Andrew, Alberta and moved to Winnipeg two years later. They raised their family in North Kildonan and she resided there for the remainder of her life. Mom enjoyed all sports, bingo, going to the casino, traveling, and baking chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. In her earlier years she could be found at the North Kildonan Community Club watching her sons play a variety of sports. She also had the pleasure of watching her grandchildren in their endeavors, whether it be in Winnipeg, Moorehead, Toronto or where ever their activities took them. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital, Riverview Health Centre and CancerCare Manitoba. Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, at Christian Reformed Church on 653 Knowles Ave, with viewing starting at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services to be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, also at the Church. Private interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Alice's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of choice.
