Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECILE MARIE COMPEAU (née GERVAIS) Peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre, Cecile Marie Compeau passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Cecile was predeceased by the love of her life, Louis Compeau, she is survived by her children, Donni Zuk (Murray); Lorraine Lirenman (Warren) and Phil Campeau (Carolyn); 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers Joe, Robert, Charles, Eugene, André and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Henry Gervais, Theodore Gervais, Leon Gervais, Aurora Finnerty, Julia Dunham, Julian Gervais, Alfred Gervais and Florence Broughton. On September 30, 1923, Cecile was born in St. Eustache, MB; the second child of Joseph and Rosalie Gervais. Married in 1941 to Louis, they resided in East Kildonan and St. James where they raised their 3 children. Louis and Cecile enjoyed 55 years of marriage and loved camping and travelling. Her great joy came from visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at 7:00 pm in St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 271 Hampton Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m., also in the Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael Moore, presiding. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all the special people that helped Mom throughout the years and most recently, the staff of GH3 at the Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, Winnipeg R3E 0S2 or Rossbrook House, 658 Ross Avenue, Winnipeg R3A 0M1. We will miss her strong faith, listening ear, spirited determination and her remarkable sense of humour.
