Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUISE DOMKE (nee ELGERT) It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Louise Domke on January 30, 2009 at the age of 101 years. She is now in the arms of Jesus. Louise was predeceased by her husband Otto (1994); infant son Walter; eight brothers; her parents, Michael and Katherina; and her son-in-law Reg Ebbeling. Left to cherish her memory is her son Oscar (Lois) Domke; her daughter Ruth Ebbeling, and her grandchildren Sheila (Doug), Douglas, Lisa (Curtis), Heather (Brian), David (Cathy), Lori (Sudesh), Patricia (Nicholas), and Robert (Barbara). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Louise was born in Wladislawupka, Poland on May 8, 1907. She married Otto and they immigrated to Libau, Manitoba in 1928. Mom loved working in her garden and cooking wonderful meals for family gatherings. She was talented at numerous handicrafts and she loved to sing. Her family meant everything to her and she dedicated her life to them. Mom touched many lives and she will be fondly remembered by them all. The family is deeply grateful to all her homecare workers as well as staff of the Misericordia Health Centre for their care and kindness. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, February 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, Mb. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Mary's Road, with Pastor James E. Fritsche officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place following the lunch at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Libau, Mb. If one wishes, donations may be made to the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
