EDWARD (TED) MICHAEL GEORGE After a courageous battle with leukemia, our beloved brother and friend passed away peacefully on February 1, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre with family at his side. He was predeceased by his mother Doris Bachynsky (nee Gillespie) in 2005. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings Carol Lee (Jack), David (Monica), Susan (Larry), Linda O'Dell (Clint), Doug and step-father John Bachynsky. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and their families. He will also be missed by many close friends who were like family to him. Ted was born on December 19, 1957 and raised in Winnipeg, living most of his life in the Brooklands and Weston areas. He left the province for a few years in his teens to work in the mines in Ontario and BC with his brothers. Ted was employed with Clark Transport for many years until his illness forced him to stop working. He was an avid race car fan, especially following the career of #88. He loved deer hunting and finally bagged the big one. Ted enjoyed renovating his home in Chatfield and spending time with friends there. The last few years Ted enjoyed golfing with his friends and family. The family wishes to thank the staff of GD6 at the Health Sciences Centre and Dr. David Szwajcer and staff of CancerCare for their excellent care and compassion during Ted's illness. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg. Flowers are gratefully declined.
