Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD GOETZ November 13, 1935 - January 31, 2009 It is with a saddened heart that I announce the peaceful passing of my beloved husband Edward at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 73 after a six month courageous fight due to a brain injury. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 49 years, Anne (nee Magel), sisters, Laura (Gaston) Corneillie, Myrtle Chartrand, Georgina Sirant, Alaine (Charles) Carlson, brother Arnold (Barbara Calder), sisters-in-law, Maxine Goetz, Barbara Magel, brothers-in-law Mike Domanski, and John Magel and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Predeceased by his birth mother, Augustina, father Alexander, stepmother Pauline, sister Shirley Domanski, brother Bert, mother-in-law Anne Magel, brothers-in-law Roman Sirant and Joseph Magel. Edward was born and raised in Winnipeg and was employed at Manitoba Telephone Systems (MTS Allstream) for 37 years. He enjoyed baseball, curling, golfing and especially traveling to many parts of the world with his wife. I would like to thank Dr. A. Kaufmann, Intensive Care and 5A Stepdown - HSC, but especially the staff at Deer Lodge Centre 3 East, Dr. C. Engel, Kari, Kelli and Jamie for the compassion and care shown to Edward and myself during the past five months. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, 7 Tudor Crescent with Pastor Tom Lurvey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Edward's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6 or Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 0L3 Thank you for the yesterday, the dreams you made come true, Thank you for the wonderful memories I'll always have of you. I looked to you for happiness and found it at my side I've turned to you for comfort and your arms were opened wide. We've cared together and shared together the special joys in life. And I've learned how precious love has been between a man and wife. I will keep you within my heart and there you will remain, To walk with me throughout my life Until we meet again.
