GEORGE F. R. HARRIS January 28, 1926 - February 3, 2009 On Tuesday, February 3, 2009 George died peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 83 years. Remaining to forever cherish George's memory are his wife Jean; his daughter Leslie von Kleist (Erik); son Colin; grandson Andrew McLeod, and new great-grandson Evan Joel; sisters, Kathleen Bateman (Bill), Jocelyn Smith (Keith) and Geraldine Berryere (Cliff), as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by daughter Lindsay McLeod (Bob) and brother Dennie (Carol). He will be fondly remembered and missed by many. George spent his life in retail, with Eaton's Men's Clothing for 20 years followed by many years at Dominion Motors and Keystone Ford. With his deep bass voice George was a singer in earlier years, in the church choirs at St. George's and St. Paul's Anglican, and, more significantly, as a member of the chorus of the Winnipeg Musical Comedy Guild, where, during a production of Showboat, he met Jean, his wife of 54 years. In compliance with George's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in George's name to the charity of your choice.
