Walter passed away suddenly at home with his wife beside him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Mabel; children Carl (Susan), Darlene (Milton), and Raymond (Carol); grandchildren Tyler (Jasmine), Chad (Rachele), Matthew, Bradley (Laura), Kristy (Phil), Tracy (Jeff), Stacey (Connor); great-grandsons Kelton and Kasey. He was always a hard worker; he worked for 15 years with the Swift Canadian Company, 30 years for the Interlake School Division as well as farming in his spare time. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand-kids and great-grandkids. He loved the outdoors, going for drives on his quad, planting potatoes, checking the cows or gardens or anything that would keep him out of the house. He often talked about trips to Austin for the Thresher men Reunion. He was hoping to take one last trip out to Calgary to see his grandson Matt, as well as a trip out to Austin. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Walter will be sadly missed but remembered always. We love you Gigi. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
