Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERDMAN FRIESEN June 22, 1925 - January 31, 2009 Erdman (Ed) Friesen passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of January 31, 2009 finally succumbing to his long battle with prostate cancer. Ed and Nettie retired to Grand Forks, BC in 1986, after raising their family near Winnipeg (Headingley), Manitoba. Ed will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his love of people, his music and his faith. At 22 he bought his accordion for $22.00 and it was a solace throughout his life in times of joy or sorrow. His sense of humour, love of life, poetry and three button accordion were the gifts he shared with all. Ed was predeceased by his wife Nettie; his brothers, William, Jacob, David, Peter and John and survived by his sisters, Tina, Mary, Dorothea and his brother Cornelius; his five children, Murray, Verna (Don), Allan (Carola), Brian, Lorna (Peter) and his two grandchildren, Caitlin and Colin. We would like to thank the staff of Rosewood Villas in Fort MacLeod for the care and attention they gave to Ed during his final months. A memorial and a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Grand Forks, BC. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Headingley Senior's Services, 5353 Portage Ave., Headingley, MB R4H 1J9.
