VALERIE LYNN DOKKEN (nee EINARSON) July 11, 1954 February 4, 2009 After a year long battle with cancer, surrounded by family Valerie Lynn Dokken (Einarson) passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. She is survived by her grandchildren, Todd, David and Crystal Lange, Joshua, Jessica and Ashley King, Karlee, Kristina, and Holly; her children, Lana Lange (Wayne), Angel King (Rick), Michelle Lavoie (Grant Prairie), Billy Schweitz (Kayla Birnie) and Tammy Schweitz (Kevin Ladychuck); and her brothers, Thor Einarson (Anna) and Trevor Einarson. She will also be missed by many other friends and family that were there for her, when she needed them most. Her parents Eleanor and Russ Hanslip and Sigurdur and Darlene Einarson preceded her as well as her grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. One of Mom's accomplishments are the many foster children that passed through her home and enriched her life - Eddie, Joshua, Mary, Daniel, Rory and John. Have no fear, my darlings, should God come to take me home, For it is up there in that Heaven, dears, where I will run and laugh and roam! I will hear that angel choir rejoice in praises to the Lord, And, my darling precious children, I will never be sick again... No, never, anymore!! But, most of all, I will meet the King, our Saviour, our Best Friend, oh my! If you could see him take my hand, I know that you would cry!! I have fought so long, I gave my all... God says it's time to rest, I will always love and miss you, dears, But God... He knows what's best! We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses that helped look after Mom at CancerCare Health Sciences Centre, Cancer Care Selkirk Hospital and Stonewall Hospital. A special thanks to Aunty Loraine for making sure Mom was at appointments and for being her rock! In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba, Box 2248, Winnipeg, R3C 2B7. Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Hall in Woodlands MB. Neil Bardal Inc. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
