SAMUEL CHODACHEK On February 5th, 2009, with family by his side, Sam Chodachek peacefully left us to join his beloved wife Marie. Born on September 10, 1923 in Birch River, Sam spent his life working the family farm in Ile Des Chenes, MB. Sam was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Marie; son Bill; sisters, Anne, Nettie; brothers, Nick, John, Mike and Pete. Dad will be sadly missed by his brother Andy (Pat) and sister Mabel (Ralph); his children, Bob (Nancy), Josie (Lawrence), Mike (Denise), Diane (Ken), and Delores; grandchildren, Jason (Corey), Justin (Kristy), Kristen (Paul), Ryan (Kristy), Brent (Samantha), Jena (Bryan), Nathan, Jordan; great-grandchildren, Emma and Hanna; his companion Chester; numerous friends and relatives. The family would like to thank Dr. Phillip Hughes and wife Becky, the ladies of Home Care and the staff at St. Pierre Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sam's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. A funeral service for Sam will occur on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home with interment in Green Acres Cemetery to follow.
