WALTER (WALLY) LORNE TOEWS Wally Toews, while holding the hand of his loving wife of 48 years, left this world into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour on January 25, 2009. Survived by wife, Doris; daughters, Dee (Frank) Reimer, Wendy (John) Palyvos, Angela (Charlie Singer); son, Lorne (Tammy); grandchildren, Dustin and Nolan Palyvos, Krissy Toews (Wil Dubois), Darcy Gray, Brynn, Abree, and Sadee Toews; great-grandchildren, Jewelle and Amira Dubois; siblings, Norm (Mary), Vern (Robbie), and Ruth (Kevin Duddridge); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Menno Toews, and in-laws, John and Evelyn Dyck. Wally enjoyed all types of sports by participating and when his health failed he enjoyed watching hockey and golf on TV with his wife. Wally also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in track and field, soccer and hockey. He was a people person and loved interacting with children. Even as a salesman he treated clients as friends. Church was very important to him; he taught Sunday School and was involved in boys programs and choir. We wish to thank the Saskatoon Convalescent Home for the good care he was provided. Viewing for family and friends was held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Westgate Alliance Church, 3315 Centennial Drive, Saskatoon, SK. Memorial Service was held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Westgate Alliance Church. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International or Saskatchewan Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Box 102 - 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK. S7N 0W8.
