TENA MCDIVITT May 26, 1932 - February 4, 2009 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother peacefully on February 4, 2009 with her loving family by her side. Tena was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Suzanna Gerbrandt; husband Harry; brother Henry; and sister Susan Zacharias. Remaining to forever cherish Tena's memory are sons, Paul, Lyle, Phil (Melody); daughter Merle Dyck (Ken); grandsons, Chris, Russell and Richard; granddaughters, Kayla and Farrah; sisters, Eva Doerksen, Mary Gerbrandt, Ann Penner; sister-in-law Tina Gerbrandt; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Ilena, Evelyn, Audrey, Betty, June and Ruth. Tena was born on May 26, 1932 and raised in Morden, MB. When Tena was a young woman she moved to Winnipeg where she met her husband Harry. They moved to BC, Alberta and later returned to Winnipeg to be closer to family and friends. Tena worked in the health care field as a caregiver at Westpark Manor until she retired in 1992. Mom's passion was her family and she strove to make our happiness her number one goal. Mom loved family gatherings and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Mom enjoyed her involvement with activities where she lived and gained many special friendships. Mom was a fond lover of the outdoors. She especially enjoyed flowers, with pink ones being her favourite. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Health Sciences Centre and Riverview Health Centre for the special care mom received. A public visitation will take place on Monday, February 9, 2009 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A funeral service will be held in her honour on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 12:30 p.m., also at Chapel Lawn, with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tena's memory to Manitoba CancerCare, ON1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Mom and Grandma, we miss you, love you and our memories of you will live on in our hearts forever. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
