EUNICE MAE KINGDON (DAVIDSON)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEUNICE MAE KINGDON (nee DAVIDSON) Eunice passed away peacefully on January 25, 2009 at the age of 87 at Sherwood Crescent Manor, Abbotsford, BC. Remaining to cherish Eunice's memory are son, Murray (Jerry) Kingdon of Abbotsford, BC, daughter Carol (Zenon) Lewko of Sanford, MB, grandchildren Michael (Jean) Lewko of Winnipeg, Roger (Tracey) Lewko of Calgary, three great-grandchildren, Damon, Jenna and Tyler, sister Doreen Hammond of Red Deer and many other relatives. Eunice was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1989. Also her parents, Ernest and Flossie Davidson, sisters Marion Davidson, Eleanor Coghlan and Jean Fraser. Born October 18, 1921, she was the second of five daughters to Ernest and Flo Davidson. Eunice was born and raised in the Desford, MB area. Following her marriage to James Kingdon in 1943, Eunice and Jim farmed until moving to Sanford in 1947, where they operated the Red White grocery store until 1958. Eunice was always involved in many aspects of community life, such as telephone operator at the MTS office, teacher's aid at the Sanford Elementary School and clerk for the local Public Health nurses, and especially the Sanford United Church. Jim and Eunice lived in Sanford until retiring to Abbotsford, BC in 1985. In retirement, Eunice enjoyed her flower garden, travel and was an enthusiastic sports fan, her favourite team was the Toronto Blue Jays. Her greatest joy was her family, spending time with her grandsons and great-grandkids. There will be a memorial held in Manitoba during the summer, 2009. The family would like to thank the staff at Sherwood Manor for all the loving care they provided and also Eunice's many friends at Avonlea Housing. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that those who desire may make a donation in Eunice's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. Rest in Peace, Mom
