Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWESLEY ERIC ARNHOLD April 14, 1930 - January 28, 2009 With heavy hearts the Arnhold family announce the passing of Wesley at the Health Sciences Centre on January 28 with family at his bedside. We were inspired by his strength, courage and dignity during his long battle with a rare skull base tumor. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Anne; sons, Terry and Corey; his sister Evelyn (Addie) Bremser; nephews, Jerry (Lynn), Tim (Vicky), extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Olga; sisters, Irene and Edith; brother-in-law Eric Nixdorf; and nephews, Barry and Dennis. Wes was born in Winnipeg on April 14, 1930 and grew up at his family's general store in Gull Lake, MB. He greatly enjoyed his early years at Gull Lake fishing, skating, swimming and playing baseball with his many friends. Later he hunted ducks and geese with his father. He was a quiet man whose actions spoke louder than words. After leaving school he worked at various jobs including: Highways survey crew, Hydro Transmission line crew and the C.P.R. In 1956 he started as an apprentice Lithographer with Israel Press and later served as press foreman for Universal Printers before joining Canadian Publishers (now Transcontinental). Wesley retired in May 1990. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Special thanks to Dr. Young and Dr. West for extending his years with us back in 2002. Also thanks to the staff of ward GA4 at the Health Sciences Centre for their assistance in his last days. We will always love you Wes.
