ERNA HITZER September 1, 1933 - February 8, 2009 Peacefully on February 8, 2009 with her family at her side, Erna passed away after a lengthy illness. Left to remember Erna is her husband of 56 years, Julius Hitzer; son Rolf (Irma); and grandchildren Mandel and Jessica. Erna will also be missed by her extended family, Rita and Clark Bodoano, Jason and Leah Tutlies, Alexandria, Patrick, Braeden and Easton. Left to mourn Erna are her sisters Leokadia Will, and Herta Finkel, and her brother Robert Bauer (Helen) as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Special thanks to the entire medical staff at CancerCare, Women's Hospital, Seven Oaks Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre. Your care, compassion and exceptional expertise for Erna will always be remembered and appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations in Erna Hitzer's honour can be made to CancerCare or to the Canadian Liver Foundation. Funeral Service is on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 370 McKenzie Street.
