THEODORE (TED) VANDENBERG It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our husband and father, Ted Vandenberg, on February 9, 2009 at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 83 years. Ted leaves to mourn his wife of 57 years, Catherina. His children, Hedi (Patrick), Fran (Roy), Carol (Terry), Henry (Jan), John (Sharon), Ted (Kerri) and Peter (Angela). His grandchildren, Brett, Taya, Andrew, James, Jane, Matthew, Karrissa, Evan, Laura and Cate. Ted was born and raised in Gemert, Holland. He served three years in the Dutch army, two of them in Indonesia. Ted married Catherina in 1951, and immigrated to Canada the following year. Together, they raised seven children. Ted worked until his retirement with the River East School Division. Ted enjoyed woodworking and spending time at their cottage at Patricia Beach. Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint).
