MARY JANE MCAULAY It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our mother on February 11, 2009 at the Tudor House Personal Care Home, Selkirk, MB. She was 96 years old. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 33 years John; son Allan; siblings Arthur, Tom, Annie and Alex; grandson Bradley and son-in-law Reg. Surviving are her children Audrey (Steve) Robson, Gordon (Karin) McAulay, Gladys (Tom) Hayward and Muriel Haddad; grandchildren Shirley, Chris, Diane, Sandra, Leslie, Charmaine, Tanja, Mark, Carol and Vicki; 21 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Elsie Brimacombe and many nieces and nephews. Mum was born in the Dunara area and at the age of 6 or 7 they moved to Clandeboye. She grew up on a farm learning this business. In 1933 she married John and together they had a mixed farming operation and John did custom thrashing for many years. When John died, she went out to work at the Selkirk Mental Health Center until her retirement. In the following years she grew a big garden, sewed many quilts for her family and went many places in her car. In 2005 she moved to Tudor House, a place she came to love. She continued indoor gardening while living there. Thank you to Tudor House for the loving care she received, and to all those who came to visit her. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clandeboye United Church with Judy Limpright officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make a donation to a charity of their choice, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Clandeboye United Church. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
