Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD DAVID WELDON March 12, 1927 - February 8, 2009 Richard David Weldon (Dave), passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years. Dave was born at the family home on Campbell Street in Winnipeg, MB. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1944, in the ground and aerial surveying section. Dave later went to the University of Manitoba to pursue his love for Drafting and Architecture, working on many projects throughout his career. Dave was a loving, genuine, caring soul who loved a wide variety of activities - the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders and Royal Canadian Legion, in which he always volunteered to be on different committees. Also active in curling, hunting, computer club, cottage life and he cherished his many close friends over the years. Predeceased by his loving wife Muriel Roberta Weldon (nee Claxton), Dave leaves behind his loving children - son Richard James Weldon and granddaughter Paula Marie Thompson of WI., daughter Donna Lynn (Marc) Durand and granddaughters Nicole Michelle and Danielle of Vernon. Also survived by his brother Jack P. Weldon (Ellen) of Jacksonville, Florida, Ada Weldon, Arthur Weldon and Sylvia Weldon, and many extended family in Florida, Ottawa, Vancouver and Winnipeg. Our Father, Our Grandpa, Our Friend A Celebration of Life will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba at a later date.
