Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HORNSHAW October 13, 1929 February 6,2009 He had a kind heart, great sense of humor and we will miss him dearly. George Hornshaw peacefully left us to join his beloved wife, Irene, on February 6, 2009, at home in his 80th year. George is survived by his brother Bill Hornshaw and wife Cathy; sister Clara Ward; sister-in-law Bernie Hornshaw; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cy and Jess Carriere and David and Miriam Carriere and many nieces and nephews. George was born in La Riviere, Manitoba to Arthur and May Hornshaw. George worked for CPR in November 1950 on the Section Crew then CP Telegraph, and finished his tenure with CN/CP Telecommunications. He retired in February of 1987 after 37 years of dedicated service. No matter where he was, George's charisma enabled him to talk to anyone, put a smile on their face, and make a new friend. His talents were so numerous and diverse, he was a great resource to friends and family, and he was always happy to help out in any way he could. We sincerely thank Dr. Heather Frame, and Selkirk Homecare for all they did for George in recent years. A celebration of George's incredible life will take place on Tuesday, February 17th at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, viewing begins at 1:00 p.m. with the service commencing at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
