For us it is so sad and hard to understand, but for her it could not be better. With the Lord which is far better Phil. 1:23. Destiny had a long battle with leukemia, which she won following a bone marrow transplant. For reasons, unknown to us, she could no longer stay. She was predeceased by her nana, Ann Austford. I miss you Destiny, I want to say I'm sorry I wasn't there to love you and pray for you laugh with you and let our babies grow up together. I remember the trip to Lethbridge AB and we went to the mall and wore matching sweaters and told everyone we were not only best friends we were best cousins. You were so awesome funny genuine and pure your commpassion taught everyone around you to be like you. We were great dancers I remember all us kids dancing in the living room for hours laughing and laughing all out of breath. Your beauty was unstoppable you were Freshy Queen at your school so pretty but never knew it treating others better than herself always putting everyone else before yourself. When I moved to Oklahoma I came back to Winnipeg in 1999 met Garret and we all went out together. Im sorry I wasn't there to celebrate your life. I want you to know I think about you alot in my day to day life hoping and wishing and in disbelief that it happened. I want you to know I'm so sorry our families all got torn apart. Your Dad loves you so much Dest I want you to know I will make things right with all of our families and bring everyone together in celebration of your life and honor you and remember all together. I want to organize a family reunion. I cry and pray for your babies without their Mama their whole Light. You touched so many lives and helped so many you never even knew. You'll always be my Best Friend and My Best Cousin and I swear to you I will bring your babies and Hubby to Winnipeg to be with Dianne and Grandma Pat in Winnipeg, Ben, Bobbie, Gabbie, Sam & Gina all need you and miss you everyday. Des was our niece...and it's so difficult to find the words to express how much she was admired...her inner beauty shone throughout her life, and was so evident in her illness. Cancer was not powerful enough to change the person she was or affect the love she had to give so generously to her family. Her spirit will live on in her children. She will always be remembered as our ray of sunshine..love always, Auntie D and Auntie Jo and families - Posted by: Darlene Pinkos (Family) on: Feb 20, 2009

There are always special people we met along our way through life but sometimes only a few really stand out. Destiny was one of those people to me. I only knew Destiny for a very brief time however I was always amazed at her strength, her courage and her peace. No matter what she was facing or how poorly she felt, her husband and family were by her side to help her gather strength and fight a little harder. Gerrit, my heart goes out to you and your family. - Posted by: Nicole Koschik (Acquaintance) on: Feb 18, 2009
