WILFRED BIEDLER 1929 - 2009 It is with sorrow we announce the passing of our husband and father, Wilfred Biedler on Thursday February 12, 2009 at the Beausejour Health Centre, at the age of 79. Wilfred was born on July 8, 1929 to Wilhelm and Huldina Biedler in Jansen, Saskatchewan, the youngest of four children. The family moved back to Manitoba, eventually settling and farming in Glenmoor. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Elsie; daughters, Cheryl (Robert) Nuttall and Marlene (George) Szarka; sister Adeline Braun; brothers-in-law, Alfred and Arnold (Gerda) Petznik; nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his best four-legged friend, Sadie. He was predeceased by his parents; sister Dorothea; brother Emmanuel; in-laws August and Filipina Petznik; brothers-in-law Donald (Red) McLeod, Karl Braun; sister-in-law Delilah Petznik as well as many friends. As a young man, he played guitar in Eddy's Pals, a local band entertaining weddings, barn dances and social events. He married Elsie Petznik in 1955 and settled in Greenwald where they raised their two daughters and remained to the present time. Wilfred worked a number of different jobs including cutting pulpwood in the bush camps near Pine Falls, cement finishing in Winnipeg but was best known as a meat cutter at local businesses in Beausejour. In retirement, he enjoyed the simple life - going for long drives with friends and the family pet dog. Living beside the Brokenhead River, he went for his walks daily until his health failed him. The family would like to thank Dr. Kassis and the nursing staff at Beausejour Hospital as well as Rev. Mark Koenker for their kind and compassionate care during his final days. Cremation has taken place and a private remembrance for family and friends will be held at a later date. His weary hours and days of pain His troubled nights are past, And in our aching hearts we know He has found sweet rest at last.
