AUDREY FRANCES STANLEY After a long and courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and Amma, Friday, February 13, 2009 with her family at her side at the age of 68. Audrey will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 46 years Frank, son Daryl (Cecilia), daughter Cynthia (Ted), cherished grandchildren Jessica, Alexandria, Matthew, James and Westyn and her mother Freda Freeman. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Lucille) and sisters Judy and Pat (Barry). Audrey was predeceased by her father Grettir Freeman and in-laws Roy and Magdellan Stanley. Audrey was born in Winnipeg on September 8, 1940 and raised in Siglunes. She attended school there until grade 8 and then attended high school in Winnipeg. After high school she received her diploma in hair dressing from Godell's Beauty School. Audrey met Frank and they were married in 1962. They raised their family in the Stonewall area and owned the Stonewall Bakery for several years where they worked side by side and made many lifelong friendships. Our family enjoyed the outdoors with camping and fishing trips, and later summers at the cabin on Lake Manitoba Narrows. Mom was involved in and always enjoyed Daryl's hockey and Cynthia's figure skating. She always encouraged her kids to do their best and supported them in every way. Mom was one of those people who could do everything good and with ease. From her crafts and sewing to cooking, gardening and hair cuts. She was always there for her grandchildren whom she treasured dearly. Halloween costumes, school projects and lunch time treats were just some of the things she liked to do for them. Audrey we will always love you, miss you and you will always be in our hearts. Not a day will go by that we will not think of you. Following Audrey's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Special thanks to Dr. Venter and the Staff of the Stonewall Hospital and to Dr. Lezack and Oncology at Seven Oaks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southwest District Palliative Care, Box 1282, Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements
