NICHOLAS NOSATY May 22, 1921 - February 13, 2009 With deep sorrow we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, gigi and great gigi Nicholas, at the Arborg and District Health Center. Nick is survived by his loving wife Nellie of 58 years; children Peter (Val), Christine (George), Larry (Dawn), Adeline (Larry), Joe (Jacqueline); grandchildren Daniel (Debbie), Nancy, Kevin, Daryl (Jen), April (Andrew), Scott, Nicole, Allison, Taylor; great-grandchildren Chance and Madison; sister Jean and sister-in-law Olive; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Nick was predeceased by his children Lena and Michael, brothers Nestor and Paul and parents Onufrey and Anastasia. Nick was born in Meleb and in his early years he worked at various jobs and then returned home to farm. He married Nellie in 1950 and together they raised their family and continued farming until his retirement. He was active in various church functions including the Ukrainian Brotherhood. Panakhyda will be sung Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Arborg. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Arborg. Rev. Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. Interment to follow at the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Meleb. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and nephew Charles Boitson. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses of the Arborg and District Health Center, St. Boniface Hospital and Seven Oaks Hospital for all their support and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Vichnaya Pamyat Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
